MyTree.vn is an online family genealogy management and preservation application. We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of our users in accordance with Vietnamese law.
This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Account Information
When registering: username, email, full name (optional), password (encrypted). Registering via Google only provides your name and email — we do not receive your Google password.
2.2. Genealogy Data
Full name, date of birth, date of death, family relationships, photos, titles, and notes for members in your tree. This data is entirely owned by you.
2.3. Payment Information
Processed via BaoKim or PayPal. MyTree does not store bank card information.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and improve the service
- To send activation and password reset emails
- To process payments and grant access
- To provide technical support
We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Sharing Genealogy Data
Genealogy data is completely private by default. You may invite collaborators (view-only or edit access) or enable a public sharing link. All sharing options are fully controlled by you.
5. Security
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — no one can read your original password
- HTTPS connections encrypt all data in transit
- Automatic daily backups stored in 2 separate locations
- Data is never automatically deleted by the system, but access may be restricted to reduce resource usage when an account's plan has expired
6. Your Rights
- View, export (Excel/Word/PDF/GEDCOM), edit, or delete your data at any time
- Request account deletion by contacting us via email
